A massive bidding war is unfolding over easyJet following a new $7.6 billion buyout proposal from American private equity group Apollo. The airline's leadership indicated this unexpected counteroffer provides better value for shareholders than the previously accepted $6.9 billion bid from Castlelake. Apollo has until early August to formalize its proposal. For commercial pilots, a well-funded acquisition could accelerate fleet modernization, opening up expanded route networks and career progression opportunities.
