Qantas Details Ultra-Long-Haul Strategy for New A350-1000ULR Fleet
Qantas is finalizing commercial plans for its upcoming nonstop flights between Sydney and London, slated to begin in October 2027 using specialized Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft. The carrier ordered twelve of the ultra-long-range jets, configuring them with 238 seats and a dedicated passenger wellbeing zone to mitigate the fatigue of 22-hour journeys. Instead of restricting the fleet to record-breaking flights, the airline will integrate these aircraft throughout its international network, underscoring the remarkable operational flexibility that modern long-haul twinjets offer today's crews and route planners.
