S7 Airlines Records Second Boeing 737 Runway Overrun Since June
An S7 Airlines Boeing 737-800 cargo jet rolled past the runway threshold upon landing at Russia's Norilsk Alykel Airport on August 8. The freighter, carrying two crew members, came to a halt on paved concrete with minor damage and no injuries. This marks the carrier's second 737 landing excursion in under six weeks, following a similar June 30 incident involving a passenger flight at Mirny Airport. For pilots, clustered runway overruns often highlight systemic issues regarding stabilized approaches, runway condition calculations, and braking action assessments.
